Job Description:
The Automotive Technology Assistant assists in the daily operations of the Automotive Technology program by issuing tools, equipment and materials, maintaining the tool and parts room and providing customer service. This position contributes to efficient and safe shop operations. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Business, Technology, and Workforce Education. Maintain the tool and parts room. Inspect tools and report damage. Check out tools, equipment and issue parts to students as needed. Maintain records of tools, equipment and parts issued and returned. Verify completed repair orders and prepare paperwork for billing. Assist in shop operations such greeting customers, answering phones, following up with customers. Perform closing procedures to ensure that the shop is prepared for next day operations. Maintain safety processes and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Required:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Automotive parts experience or one year of post-secondary automotive training. Familiarity with automotive tools, parts, common automotive supplies, and simple bookkeeping procedures. Proficient in MS Office Suite. OSHA certification preferred.
